The much-talked about ‘Consumerism’ centres on the problems of buyers in a world of sellers. During the last few years, perceptible consumer awareness has been noticed and an increasing number of consumers are turning to the remedies provided under the Consumer Protection Act.
Consumer Protection is a vast field, much wider than is generally understood. But the Consumer Protection Act is yet to cross its infancy. The provisions made in the Consumer Protection Act for enforcement of the orders passed by the Redressal Forums are also not free from ambiguities and execution of an order may pose insurmountable problems.
The myriad problems of consumers are a matter of special focus.
